I finally finished our art winter bulletin board !

We made our Art room a fun mural from Ms Lora and Ms Ginas class. This is a fun opener to art along with some silly questions that made us laugh and feel more comfortable on our first day of Art!

Here’s just some of our fun “About Shoe“ Art we did on the first day In ms. tonya and Ms Lanee‘s class. students were asked to create/design a shoe that would describe them. These fun colorful designs were so much fun!

Art Explorer Self Portraits

this year we are art explorers! here to travel through history from the ancient times to today. So what better way to start then to create explorer self portraits that we can admire on our walls!

I can’t wait to see the finished pieces! Already their self portraits are so fun and full Of personality!

Henri Matisse- Painted Paper Shape Collages

students learned about the famous modern artist, Henri Matisse, and his passion For cutting out huge organic, colorful shapes. students first made painted paper and then created their own organic shapes by experimenting with scissors.

The littles loved to paint On large pieces of art paper. They learned how to mix the primaries to get their secondaries first. Next they learned about organic shapes and made their own. Overlapping and using tons of glue seemed to be the theme of this age group, and I love it!

Cubism inspired by Pablo Picasso
